Fire Case in Jakarta Declines in Ramadhan

Fire case in Jakarta along Ramadhan or March 12 to April 9 was low.

There was 144 fire cases

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan, said the fire case was 4 percent lower compared to last year in same period.

"There was 144 fire cases. It is lower compared to last year by 150 cases," he said, Friday (4/19).

He detailed, East Jakarta with 41 cases, West Jakarta with 33 cases, South Jakarta with 32 cases, and Central and North Jakarta with 19 cases.

Fire cases triggered by short circuit electricity by 90 cases, gas by 17 cases, cigarette by six cases, burning trash by three case, candle on case and other by 27 cases.

The burnt objects were house by 46 cases, outer building installation by 36 cases, public and trade building by 26 cases.

"The rests are vehicle by 20 cases, stall by four cases, industrial building by two cases, plant by two cases, trash by two cases, and other by six cases," he explained.

He added that massive fire prevention socialization plays big role in declining fire case in Jakarta.

"I appreciate all urban village and sub-district taskforce for routinely socializing to residents," he added.

The socialization was conducted in form of distributing stickers, door to door, and public advertisement.

"We appeal the residents to increase the awareness in preventing fire. Please contact Jakarta Siaga at 112 for reporting fire case," he closed.
